RECKLESS TONIGHT

In the loneliness of this evening,
the self to self says,
what now my friend-
groping hands searching for a new stake
the old ones having worn out
tiring evenings,
tireless me.
where to my friend?
the old trail stinks,
its milestones rust in this tireless evening.
Who to my friend?
my sole's are hurting,
the underneath of my foot sensitive,
the bright lights glimmer
far, far away
shirt blowing in the wind,
shirtless in the deathless night,
shorn off responsibilities,
free to venture a far naked
in the deathless night.
who says I've got to live by you for yours,
or by your rules,
I'm reckless tonight.
