P O E T R Y

from NAZARIYA by Vinod Anand "NAZAR", Translated by Meera Panigrahi

"TRUTH"

I tried often to catch my shadow
But always failed.

One day I thought,
Why, after all this should be so?

Then truth surfaced,
Sun was behind
Hence my shadow fell before me
I faced the sun
Shadow fell behind.

Face the light,
Shadows shall fall behind
Turn away
And they will keep spreading before you

This is the truth,
Realising this
Make your life worthwhile

"CROWDS"

Line decreasing in front-
Indicative of efficient services?
Supply accommodating demand.

Line increasing behind-
Indicative of supply
Unable to cope with rising demand,
Consumerism and extravagance-
Axe-wounds on the Economy,
Internal conflicts.

Line decresaing in front
Increasing behind-
A sign of progress
Services coping efficiently
With demand and supply,
Symbol of prosperity
Of the nation.

Whether long or short
Behind or before
Wherever it is
A line stands for
Governance and discipline
Ruler and the ruled.
