Terror strikes Delhi

The blasts that rocked the national capital killing at least 20 people and injuring 98 others failed to dampen the spirits of Delhiites, who continued with normal life on Sunday. City hospitals like RML, Jasaram, Lady Hardinge, Ganga Ram and LNJP, where the injured were admitted, saw a hectic activity overnight and in the morning as relatives of the victims came to visit them.

Some people at RML and LNJP hospitals were seen worried as they were not able to trace their relatives since the blasts last night. "I am trying to locate my brother Raju who went to Connaught Place last evening," a frenzied looking Vivek said as he left RML hospital without a clue.

Zardari for new dialogue to tackle terror

Highligting the need for launching "a new dialogue" to tackle terrorism, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he would seek an international conference on the issue at the UN General Assembly later this month.

"Whatever medicine we've been using it hasn't ended the poison, it's made it worse," Zardari said, ahead of his visit. It was earlier supposed to be a private visit to take his daughter Bakhtawar to Edinburgh University to begin her degree course. But now, he will hold meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Foreign Secretary David Miliband.
